🔐 16 Billion Passwords Leaked: What You Need to Know

Hey folks,
Andrew here from Johnson Data Services, and I want to give you a heads-up on something big.

A huge data breach just hit the news. I’m talking 16 billion usernames and passwords leaked online. That’s not a typo—billion with a “B.” This data includes login info from places like Google, Facebook, Apple, and Dating apps that want the user to verify there physical data by uploading their ID and Photo And The Geo-data of all photos.

This leak didn’t come from one single hack—it’s a massive collection of stolen logins gathered over time from various websites, apps, and data dumps. Researchers found it all lumped together and shared out in the open.

💥 What does this mean for you?

If you use the same password for multiple sites (which a lot of us do), you’re at risk. Hackers take those leaked logins and try them on other sites—like your bank, your email, or your online store accounts.

This is called a credential stuffing attack, and it works because people reuse passwords.

🔒 What you can do right now

Don’t panic—just take a few simple steps:

  1. Change your passwords, especially if you use the same one in multiple places.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA). It adds a second layer of protection.
  3. Use a password manager to keep track of strong, unique passwords.
  4. Go to HaveIBeenPwned.com and check if your email has been part of a breach.
